So, this weekend I did something different. I've been in a bit of a rut, so it felt nice to be out of the house and in a different enviornment even if it was for "work".
The quotations are because I felt like although it was supposed to be work, i relaxed more than I have since I've been home. Really.
I had three adults for respite care. All disabled and i got to cook in a kitchen with next to nothing left in it (I love that because kitchens with too much don't inspire me, they overwhelm my cooking creativity), and watch TV till whatever time without having to watch it in my bed in order to have "me" time.
Then I had my favourite kiddies. Max and Jess. I have been looking after these two amazing kids off and on since I nannied them full time 5 summers ago. I love it everytime. I have more fun then them I think, and I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it. Here are a few of the highlights:
Jess: "Remember that one time you took us for gubblebum ice cream by the lake?"
Max: "It's Bubblegum, Jess"
Jess: "That's what I said, Gubblebum!" (cute shrieky 4 year old voice with bum stuck out and finger waving at her brother)
Me: "nevermind, you two, your wasting valuable eating time!"
Jess: "Are you a teenager"?
Me: "No, I'm 26"
Jess: "What's THAT supposed to mean?"
Me: (thinking who knows now a days) "It means I'm an adult"
Jess: "You CAN'T be an adult 'cause you're not married and you don't have kids!"
Me: "Not all people who are adults are married or have kids"
Jess: "Yeah, like those people that have kids before their married, they can't be adults...'cause adults have to be responsible right?" (oh how I love her...)
Me: "I guess you could say that"
Jess: "I did say that, silly"
Max: "Did you know that I know the word for your private area?"
Me: "Really?"
Max: "Yeah, we need to use proper words for things, like Penis"
Me: "Where did you learn that?"
Max: (with his confident, 7 year old, I know what I'm talking about face on...picture it) "SEXUAL (emphasized with a lysp) EDUCATION LEE-ANNE!"
Me: "That's a bit young to be learning sex ed in school"
Jess: "What does young mean?"
Me: "It means you're not ready to hear this conversation!"
Hope you all enjoyed that! I sure did! Man...they warm my heart so much!
